“When I first became a manager, I was a recent college graduate and I was beginning my career journey. Of course, I was very excited and grateful to be in the manager role but I was also scared. I began to second guess myself and think I didn’t deserve to be a manager because of my age. I felt intimidated by the thought of supervising other staff members, and, at times, I also felt like I didn’t belong.

These feelings of imposter syndrome began to disappear when my support system started growing. I had an amazing supervisor who was very patient with me and gave great guidance. I also had Katherine Spinney who served as an amazing resource and really provided me with the encouragement I needed. Katherine does a great job listening to everything you have to say without any judgment. She always asks the best questions that help you reflect and find a solution and gives great advice that helped me lead my team to success.

My confidence in being a manager grew and it’s thanks to Katherine for helping me along the way.”
